Big Garden Birdwatch 2025.png

Many people have discovered the joy of wildlife on their doorstep, spending more time in their gardens and local green spaces. Fabulous for good mental health, feeding the birds and watching wildlife is proven to improve mood, calm the mind and connect you to a world outside of the stresses and strains of every day life. Feeding the birds is one of the easiest ways of attracting birds to your garden and the joy they bring to me is immeasurable.

These pages are designed to help anyone who is interested in improving their knowledge of British garden birds.

With the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch at the end of January, it's the best time to start getting to know and recognise your garden visitors. The activities below can get you started and then practise your ID skills on the live cams in my garden.

 Fun Feeders!

Make your own fun feeders!

I have different feeding stations all over my 3 acre plot. There are cameras on all of these. Many have Hikvision CCTV type cameras, wired back to a central PC and Network Video Recorder (NVR). Dome have Birdfy wifi cameras, that monitor and save footage of each species and I can both watch the camera live and I can see all the clips, via an app. I will be sharing some videos over the BGBW weekend, but you can watch all the CCTV cameras together here, or you can go to my live cams page.
