More about
Gwyllt Hollow
Gwyllt Hollow is my home in South West Wales.
I have about 3 acres of land, with my house in the middle. The land consists of a variety of habitats and it is this that really drew me to the amazing potential of the property when I first viewed it. It has areas of copse, woodland, meadow and even an old area that was once quarried. It is surrounded by rural Welsh countryside and is close to a SSSI Nature reserve and natural meadows.

Gwyllt Hollow Projects
Find out more about the projects I have undertaken so far.......
I have an ambitious vision for this land; for it to be as diverse a space as possible, both in habitat and species. The land has to work for me as well in a variety of ways, so there are lots of projects going on!

My Story
I’ve always been passionate about the natural world and also what we can do, as individuals, in our own spaces. Over the course of 20 years, I transformed my modest semi-rural plot in Lichfield, Staffordshire into a thriving little haven for nature. It was a rewarding journey but I began to feel it was time for a new challenge.
With my children grown and leading their own lives, I decided it was time to follow a lifelong dream to find a home in the countryside with enough land to truly embrace my passion for the nature, conservation and filming.
Everything seemed to fall into place as if it were meant to be. My house sold within just a few days, and on my very first visit to Wales, I came across this property and instantly fell in love with the land and the scope it had for development.
I didn’t know the area, and I didn’t know a soul here. Some people called it brave, but I’ve never seen it that way. I simply had a dream and life’s too short not to chase it. It truly turned out to be the best decision I’ve ever made!

My plans for Gwyllt Hollow
The plot here at Gwyllt Hollow had been cared for and nurtured by the previous owner, who also loved the natural world. Thus, I started in a very good place regarding its evolution.
It has varied habitats and my aim is to develop and enhance each as best as I can. I aim to add to the existing spaces to increase their biodiversity. I will add nesting spaces and feeding stations.
There are numerous outbuildings on site and these will evolve into functional spaces for wildlife watching, photography, storage and just places to immerse myself and my visitors into this special space
I will record as many species present as I can and have cameras all over the site to record the visitors!

Cameras at Gwyllt Hollow
Wired Cameras
Bird Feeders to Nest Boxes

I have a series of wired cameras all over the site. These are cabled to network switches, then back to the house and to my central PC, where I run iCatcher Console, to monitor and record all cameras and capture footage.

Remote Monitoring
Trail Cameras
I use trail cameras to monitor areas outside of my cabled system, but also to observe different areas that I may want to install wired cameras.
Remote Monitoring
Wifi Cameras

Instead of being wired, my wifi cameras connect to the wifi signal and I access the camera and footage via a phone app.

Gwyllt Hollow
Hen run
Clearing a large area, I built this covered run so I could have a selection of hens. I love having fresh eggs every day!

Gwyllt Hollow
Quarry Pond Creation
Clearing a swampy base of the quarry area, we dug an unlined pond to fill naurally in wet weather.

Gwyllt Hollow
Polytunnel Build
To increase my growing season, I built a polytunnel in a small, sheltered spot near my greenhouse.

Gwyllt Hollow
The Lodge
An unsafe loft to a wood store became a place to site and watch wildlife and a space loved by my grandchildren!

Gwyllt Hollow
Demolition & Hide Build
The biggest project yet! Dismantle an old caravan & turn the adjoining wooden cabin into a wildlife hide!
