I am experimenting and trialling lots of different set ups and additions to my Bushnell close-up kit and as soon as I perfect it all, I will be showing how you, too, can achieve the same results with your Bushnell Trail Cam. Until then, you will have to make do with my footage and my experimentations….
This week, I have set the Bushnell up on the ‘waterhole’, a mouse hole and some feeders. The only thing I captured on the mouse hole was a lot of slugs eating the seed and nuts I put out.It was not very exciting footage!
It takes a while to go through all the captures and select clips, then create movies and upload them onto YouTube so I can share them. Tonight I chose 3 clips of the blue tit bathing. Ever watchful and almost as if the water was a little chilly, this individual (well it may not be the same one each time!) hesitated on the edge a lot before braving the water! I love the way these cameras can capture such moments, very much at ‘bird’s-eye’ level. I find it very satisfying!
Although this is actually captured in full 1080HD, these files on YouTube are large and take ages to load. I have uploaded at 720HD and it is worth making sure the video clip is playing at this setting. The only downside of taking clips of birds bathing is they inevitably splash water all over your lenses…. oh well, never mind… it was worth a few splashes ….
