About a year ago, I decided to set up an Internet Shop. I get lots of emails every week with people asking about the projects I do and the kits I use and how people can set up projects in their garden. I was often sending people to the stores that I use and I started to think I was missing a trick! If I could sell the products on my own shop (through these suppliers!) then may be I could get a small cut because of the recommendation. That money would help me to continue to improve what I did here, help fund the live streams and the camera systems and nest boxes I set up.
I approached a number of companies and many were happy to support me. I had no idea  how to go about building an Internet shop that would do all I wanted it to do. I did a lot of research on the Internet. I did not want to spend a lot of money on expensive and complicated software. I needed something easy to use. Finally I came across FreeWebStore. The software looked pretty easy to use, there were helpful videos and I could have a free store to start with. I bit the bullet and had a go!
Over the last year, I have increased the products I sell and slowly built my shop up. As I have got the hang of the software, I have improved the look and feel of the shop as well. This week, I added a slideshow to the top of the shop… that took a while but the excellent customer helpline led me through it!
I like to feel that my shop is pretty unique! All the products I sell you can see in my patch being used. I try to include photos and videos of the product in use here in my garden, so you can see it works! Also I am just at the end of an email and , if you are buying something like  nest box camera kit or a trail cam and have never used one before, that can be reassuring!
I am always interested to get feedback, so if you have not already had a look… then do visit. You can click the images or go to www.wildlifekateshop.co.uk. The price you see is what you pay… with P&P added. I try to be as competitive as I can regarding pricing. There are some great deals on there leading up to Christmas!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the companies who have supported me in this venture and supported me in my work here both in my patch and schools.
