Must have been hot in that nestbox today, especially if you were one of the smaller chicks trapped under all that nest material…. like a big duvet on! At one point today, the top layers had been pulled over so I could hardly see the chicks, but from the images today, their plumage is really starting to come through and the colours are visible. They were panting in there later in the afternoon, even though the nestbox is in a shaded spot. I saw all 6 today….. just…, but a couple are a lot smaller and not getting to the surface as much to get fed.
