I have recorded some 44 different species of bird in the garden, so it is quite a special occasion when I see something new. I was working at my office today, when I heard an unusual call. Looking out the window onto the hedge, next to the hedgecam feeder, I could see a bird calling. I stood up slowly and was quite surprised to see a female whitethroat!… at least that is what I think it is!
Luckily, my camera and the 100-400mm lens was on the desk next to me, so I picked it up and shot a few pictures, through the office window, before it flew off. I was pretty surprised that the results were not that bad!…. a great new addition to my garden species list.
