Following advice from Jason at Gardenature, I have adjusted the camera slightly in the oak tree nestbox. I learnt that the birds usually build the nest at the back of the box, so it is best to line the camera up so you can’t quite see the entrance hole, but can see the full base. It is important to get this right before they start nest building as I would be really annoyed if I could not see the nest properly.
They were not worried by me have a fiddle in there and the pair were soon back in looking around again. They have been in and out of there all day. Here is a screen shot from today, without all the text and crosshairs!
