I spent a little while at the weekend hiding behind the trellis, trying to get some final shots of the blue tits bringing in nesting materials. I am pretty sure they have finished this nest, in fact, not much more came in this afternoon, but I managed to get these shots of the pair coming and going from the nestbox. One carried a caterpillar around for a while though!
It was 8.30pm and just before I changed the camera over to my fox cam, I thought I would check the oak tree nestbox. Delighted to see the female (I presume) settled right down in all the softness of her nest! Fluffed up, she looks like she was set there for the night….. first time they have spent any time at night in there.
