A couple more kingfisher shots….

I have been gradually working through the shots I took on Sunday. Here are a couple of other shots that I am pleased with.

I also took a lot of this bird when it landed on a different perch, to the left of the hide. The problem was, the light was on the water behind, making the kingfisher dark in comparison. I tried to compensate by changing the settings on the camera. In this way, you can raise the exposure to bring you subject up to the right levels. Unfortunately as the contrast was so great, I have found it difficult to get the image I want. This, potentially, would have been a great shot! It had caught a stickleback, beaten it several times on the branch and then was throwing it around, presumably to turn it around before he ate it. I took a fire of shots and one of these had the fish in mid air!

Enjoying my live cams?

Any donations, however small, towards my costs, are most welcome.
