WELCOME
Welcome to the nest of Belinda and Bob; two blue tits who have built a beautiful nest in my nest box.
Belinda & Bob's eggs started hatching on the 27th April!
Watch out for....
UPDATE
The chicks are growing fast! The chicks are starting to look fluffy now as their feathers grow. Their eyes are opening too! Look out for the caterpillars coming in for food. You may see Bob & Belinda take their poos out of the nest too, to make sure it stays clean in there. Soon they will start to come out of the nest cup so we can see them more clearly.
May 18th - All 4 blue tit chicks fledged successfully!

Belinda and Bob are nesting in a nest box that I built myself. It has tiny lights inside and a camera. The lights come on during the day, so that we can see clearly what is going on on inside. The lights go off at night.
The blue tits built a beautiful nest out of moss and dried grass and then they lined the nest with soft materials, like fur, sheep wool and feathers. Belinda then laid one egg a day, until she had ten eggs.
She then incubated them. This means she sits on them to keep them warm. The blue tit chicks develop inside the egg and it takes them 14 days to grow. Then they will hatch. The chicks will grow fast with Belinda and Bob feeding them and they will be ready to leave the nest after about 3 weeks.

The story so far.....
I am experimenting with this video which will update every time I add a new video. You should be able to scroll through to see the story evolving....
