Weekend bees and butterflies

With the lovely weekend weather, I saw both orange tips and speckled wood butterflies in the garden. Spent half an hour with my camera up the bridle path which is opposite my house. Here are a selection of the photographs I took….

My neighbour has six hives and the honey bees are always in and around my pond where they come to drink. The field nest to the bridle path is full of dandelions and I tried to photograph the honey bees and bumbles bees feeding from these. They were absolutely covered in pollen! Suprisingly difficult to capture as just as you get them in focus, they move onto the next flower!
