Through to the FINALS of the UK Blog Awards!

A massive ‘Thank you’ to everyone who regularly tunes into my blogs and endless tweets about wildlife and to all of those who voted for me in the UK Blog Awards. On Friday, I received an email to inform me that my blog has made it through to the finals in the Green & Eco category!

Ten blogs have reached this stage of the competition and it is well worth having a look at the other contenders, as there are some cracking blogs in there; all very varied and covering different aspects of the Green & Eco world!

So what happens now? Well, the judges now take over and will spend the next few months scrutinising our blogs and choosing a winner! We won’t know until 29th April, when we are invited to the Awards Evening at the Park Plaza Hotel in London. It is that this event that the winners will be announced!

The judges for this category are Miranda Johnson and Iain Patton. Click on the picture below to find out more about them.

Of course, I am thrilled to have got this far, but even more delighted that people enjoy my blog enough to have voted me to this stage of the competition. Ultimately, I write my blog to share my love and enthusiasm for the natural world, hoping I can pull a few people in on the way! Of course, I would be lying if I said I didn’t want to win….. all ten entrants will want that, but whatever happens at the end of April, my blog will continue, with gusto, as it has for the last 5 years or so!

Finally, an added bonus was that my Michael Drayton ‘Using Wildlife to Learn’ blog has also got through to the finals in the Education category! This blog documents the projects we get up to at school, getting kids outside and engaged with their local environment… and often getting very dirty in the process!
