After all the excitement of a tawny owl, these pretty stock doves do not seem such an exciting proposition, but they have certainly been interested and have visited to kestrel box at least 4 times today, for quite long periods. I captured this video clip and you can see the male going in and calling for the female to follow him. I have not set these cameras up for audio yet, but you can see his throat billowing as he coos and calls her into check out the box.
I don’t think it will be long before the jackdaws appear to take a look too….. all I’ll need then is a kestrel!
