It is with great sadness that I hear today that The Badger Trust has lost its Court of Appeal challenge to government proposals to kill thousands of wild badgers in England. This news means that it clears the way for the start of culls in parts of Gloucestershire and Somerset. My friend Mike Mallory who live streams his wonderful badger sett on the Wildlife Whisperer website could potentially have to watch his badgers culled… a thought that does not bear contemplating. If official licences are issued as planned by Natural England, the pilots could begin within weeks.
I wanted to get something down on my blog to mark this sad day and watched the ‘Just Do Something’ video… it just said it all…. just watch it and if you are moved as I was, then sign the petition. This ridiculous cull has to be stopped.
