Odd Box Update

The blue tits have continued to be busy all morning….. but less this afternoon… to be honest I don’t think they can get much more moss in there! When the birds come in now, they virtually disappear into it! They have bought in a little grass today, but it does still look like a pile of moss…. not very ‘nest’ shaped!

I was wondering how long it is from finishing the nest, to laying. Do they finish the nest, then mate and how long then before egg is ready to be laid?? Could there be a queit period from end of nest building to egg laying? Lots of questions!
