May update from Gwyllt Hollow

It is my second Spring at Gwyllt Hollow and I am already seeing the effects of my efforts over the last year. This Spring has been the polar opposite to last year. Last year was one of the wettest on record , yet this year one of the driest. Weeks of warm sunshine and blue skies and the site has absolutely blossomed with more insects than I have seen since I have been here! The addition of the second pond and the work in the quarry has meant these areas have been transformed. The downside is that the quarry pond is dry, although I have topped it up a few time to offer water for the wildlife. The meadow is looking better than last uyear, but is very much a work in progress. Grab a cuppa and join me on my dressing-gown clad walk around the garden at 6.30am, when the light is beautiful and everything looks fresh and green! Enjoy!
