After getting a better image with kestrel box 2, I went back to the kestrel box 1, that I put up about a year ago. Last year a stock dove nested in there, but I could not quite see into the box. Today, we arranged the camera onto a new batton, so the camera looked more into the nest box… a perfect view now! This box is mounted in an oak tree at one end of my garden. It is very high up on a bank, but possibly too close to the house for kestrels, hence the second box going up.
The shots below show the box in position and the view I get from the camera now.
