When I designed the hub, I always had photography in mind… getting the birds as close as I could so I could photograph them. This meant designing two hide-type windows with feeders hanging at good positions outside. In fact, the photos I got today are from inside the hub, through a single pane window, onto the feeders that are just a few cm from the window!
These feeders have been up for a week now and the birds are starting to use them more and more. With the door of the hub closed, they seem oblivious to my presence and the nuthatch was feeding today just 40cm from me! I managed a few quick shots before he was off, but I am quite excited by what I may be able to achieve from this window.
