The garden is an foliage explosion! All the rain and then warm weather has meant a weekend of cutting back and trying to get the garden back into some order. My poppies are looking beautiful and I took some shots this weekend. The yellow and orange ones are self seeded and I think I actually prefer them to the large ornamental red one. They are so delicate and vary in colour from deep orange through to pale yellow.
Another flower I think is really pretty, are those of the common chive! Close up, these delicate flowers are such a beautiful colour and often overlooked. These are my favourite shots….
I also took some of the fern fronds… lovely when back lit.
