I teach all day on a Monday and after school I had been to a local school to help them set up their nest box. When I finally got home, the first thing I did was to go upstairs to check the i-catcher footage of the kestrel box. It has been a beautiful sunny day here and I was hoping for some action….. well I could not have wished for more!
My first footage, at about 7.30am, was the male appears and I realise that he has brought his mate!…. not only that, the jackdaws are also present!
The female was then scared off by the jackdaws, who had a good look around before the male and female returned later.
I am uploading the video footage at the moment, but I feel this is a really promising sign! More to follow soon…….
