Blue tit, great tits & nest boxes

This warm spell has certainly acted as a catalyst in the garden with an explosion of activity both in the flora and the fauna world! All 4 nest boxes with cameras are having regular visitors. The WW Discovery box has great tits bringing in moss, the HandyKam plum tree box has blue tits coming in regularly and ‘wing fluttering’ which is often a pre-cursor to nest building. The Gardenature oak tree and side box also have tits visiting although no real sign of nesting materials yet. The blackbird, after a quiet period, has returned to the nest she has built and sat on it most of this morning, so I am thinking she may lay very soon. I have been live streaming from her nest this morning. She is in a pretty vulnerable position, both in terms of cat and magpie predation, but we’ll see how she goes!

The pond is full of spawn, although the activity has died down now. The plants are shooting up and I will take some pictures over the next few days, as it is starting to come alive.

Below is a clip from ten minutes of i-catcher footage at the weekend. This ten minutes was fairly representative…. constant  ‘in & out’  activity!
