I monitored all four nestboxes today using the quadbox and was quite excited to look through it, with activity being registered from 7.30am until about 5pm. The vast majority of the action was in the oak tree box…. this pair of blue tits are visiting almost every 15 minutes or so… both of them in and out constantly.
The odd box had a lot of activity from blue tits as well, with a pair actually coming right into the box three times today.
I was most interested in the boxes that I had moved this weekend. I was really pleased to see another blue tit enter the green nestbox for a look around. It came in twice. You cannot see the entrance hole in this box, so it is difficult to see if they have been looking in much.
Finally my open nestbox……. yep, managed to get a couple of visitors….Blue tits AGAIN!
I’m really pleased that all boxes are getting action, even if it is a blue tit takeover!
