Last winter, I had a male Blackcap visiting for most of the winter months. Yesterday a female appeared and it is the first time I have seen them in nearly a year! This female frequented both sets of feeders. She appears to be eating both the sunflower hearts and the fat based products.
Keep an eye out on my lvd cameras, particularly the Hub feeders on the front page of my website as they seem to be the favourite at the moment. I am hoping the male appears as well soon. He is a little more feisty and less willing to share his lunch with the robin. I hope she stays around for the Big Garden Birdwatch next weekend!
