It has been a wonderful weekend of wildlife on my live cameras! With the heavy falls of snow, the birds have been really hungry and I have been captivated with all the activity on my cameras. All the feeders have been really busy, but it has to be the snack bar that has given me the best captures today as there has been a constant flow of visitors, all keen to grab a snack.
This camera is mounted right outside my office and I reached out the window with my phone to try to give a bird’s-eye view of the bar… #gallery-16967-16 { margin: auto; } #gallery-16967-16 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; } #gallery-16967-16 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-16967-16 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
The birds were lining up in the hedge opposite, waiting for a chance to alight and feed. The best images are early morning, when it is still dark outside and the lights inside the bar illuminate both the bar and the visitors. These are some of my favourites…..
This is one of a selections of cameras live streaming on my website so you can watch for yourself!
I have also set up another new camera this weekend and, hopefully this one will go live in the next week or so. It is on a small raised ground feeder and I popped it down the patio end of my garden. With so many hungry birds, I was not surprised to see lots of different birds visiting. One, in particular, caused me much excitement; a jay! Although I have seen this species around the garden this year, for the first time in 20 yrs, I have never actually attracted them to a feeder. I was absolutely thrilled, especially as I imaged to capture it using my icatcher software!
I am hoping this bird will become a regular visitor!
All my cameras can be accessed via the ‘Live Cameras’ section of my website.
